As much as I love coming home with a retro piece of furniture or accessory, I also love a good find on the British high street. Living on the outskirts of Manchester, I don't get into the city to go shopping as often as I'd like, so a lot of purchases for our home are made over the internet or even during a weekly food shop - if the supermarket I'm in has a homeware section, my trolley definitely heads in that direction!

My favourite high street stores for homeware include H&M Home, George at Asda, TK Maxx, Marks & Spencer, Homesense and Debenhams. When the latter recently got in touch with me about choosing some products from their Spring Home Accessories range to style in our home, I was rather excited. I'm a fan of Debenhams and already own some of their homeware items from the Ben di Lisi and Butterfly Home by Matthew Williamson ranges and I knew they also stocked homeware from the likes of Abigail Ahern and Julien MacDonald.

I was given a set figure to spend on home accessories on the site and I wanted to make sure I spent it wisely, so I had a few items to style in different rooms of our home. It wasn't hard to do, as despite stocking items from well known designers, most items in the Debenhams Home Accessories section are really affordable and I was surprised just how much I was able to choose.

Since I always like to keep an eye on high street homeware ranges, there was already a Butterfly Home by Matthew Williamson cushion I had on my wish list and the other items I chose fell very easily into my shopping basket! Here is what I picked -

When I was choosing the items, I had already decided exactly where I would style them in our home; the tiger cushion, vase and yellow throw were for the lounge, the star light was to go on the hearth in our dining room and the bird print cushion was for our guest room. We have a retro meets modern feel to our home, with a lot of bright colours and tropical pattern amidst the 1930's period features, and I felt these five items showcased both our style and gave a good example of the on-trend home accessories Debenhams has to offer.

Scroll down for some images of how I styled the products in our home!

This Ben di Lisi vase has such a retro feel to it and I think it works perfectly next to my original 1960's Italian glass Empoli decanter.

I love animal themed patterns particularly of tigers, leopards, zebras and flamingoes and the blue of this Abigail Ahern cushion echoes other elements of blue in the room and also works with the tropical, safari theme in our lounge.

I have been searching for the perfect acid lemon throw for a while and when I saw this throw on Debenhams, I knew it was the perfect colour to match the yellow in our Matthew Williamson wallpaper and the tassels are very on-trend.

This Butterfly Home by Matthew Williamson cushion has been on my wish list for a while - the colours in it just pop and I love the bird and palm print with the pom pom detail on the edging. It has a lovely silky feel and it fits with the blue, green and pink colour theme of our guest bedroom perfectly.

Our dining room features lots of copper and gold details and I love how this star light from Graham & Brown works perfectly with the accessories on the mantle piece. We never use this fire and this star is the perfect size to make a real feature of the hearth and fireplace.

Of course, these are only five items from the Debenhams Home accessories collection and there are lots more I could have picked! Below I've rounded up some of my other favourites and you can view the entire collection here.
